A balance of solids and voids where light, material, and reflections interact
The Square Coffee Table project originates from the idea of transforming a coffee table into a design element capable of engaging with the space through volumes, materials, and reflections, ensuring they exist in perfect harmony. The form develops as a low parallelepiped, partially hollowed out, creating a refined interplay of solids and voids that lends visual lightness and a strong architectural character to the object. This effect is further enhanced by mirrored finishes, which amplify the space and reflect the surrounding context, seamlessly integrating it into the design.
The internal structure is built with a tubular steel frame, designed to ensure solidity and construction precision. Onto this technical base, refined materials are applied: polished ebony wood on the horizontal surfaces, leather, mirrored finishes on the vertical planes, and steel profiles that elegantly define the table’s perimeter.
The central element of the composition is backlit Ivory Onyx. Its light tones and natural veining are enhanced by the illumination, creating depth and transforming the table into a dynamic element capable of changing perception depending on the surrounding environment.
The chromatic contrast between the materials is a deliberate design choice, intended to strengthen the identity of the coffee table and enhance its different surfaces. The interplay between snow-colored leather, polished ebony, and Ivory Onyx creates a sophisticated visual balance in which light and material are in constant dialogue. Square Coffee Table thus expresses a contemporary vision of design, capable of combining elegance with timeless quality.
